From calisthenics to the multifunctional trainer, very diverse pieces of equipment have been installed in the Kleiner Wäller Vitalparcours, creating a varied course.
Revitalised
The “Kleiner Wäller Vitalparcours”, located between the Rhineland-Palatinate municipalities of Rengsdorf, Hardert and Bonefeld, was opened in autumn 2022. It brought a neglected fitness trail back to life, and now offers a variety of new opportunities for all generations.
The circular route has a length of 2.4 km and can be extended by another 3.8 km. Along the way, high-quality sports, play and fitness equipment, including explanations, has been installed at six stations. This includes balance beams, slacklines, calisthenics machines and various multifunctional trainers for muscles and cardio.
All the devices and installations come from stilum. Since both the equipment and the route are designed to be varied and welcoming, everyone – from athletes to families with children to seniors – can find something to suit them.
Initiative & funding
The three neighbouring municipalities of Rengsdorf, Hardert and Bonefeld in the Westerwald wanted to offer their residents a useful and attractive leisure offer and encourage them to do more outdoor activity. This is how the plan for a multi-generational fitness circuit, reviving a former fitness trail, came about.
It quickly became clear to the planners that the municipalities would not be able to cover the estimated costs of 125,000 euros on their own. The solution was Leader, a funding programme of the European Union. Leader supports projects which improve the quality of life and togetherness of rural areas and ensure the future viability of villages. What is special about it is that local people have to be involved in the project development and in decisions on funding.
After 75 percent of the costs had been approved, the course was completed in just four weeks.
Workout
With starting points in all three municipalities, the Kleiner Wäller Vitalparcours passes through idyllic locations with a total of 15 pieces of fitness equipment – an ideal opportunity for exercise and fitness in the middle of nature.
The high-quality training equipment set up along the course makes an important contribution to this. These pieces of equipment have been specially developed to enable effective outdoor training and to support the natural movements of the body.
From calisthenics to the multifunctional trainer for muscles and cardio, very diverse and versatile equipment has been installed to create a varied course. Whether it’s strength training, endurance or coordination – the equipment offers a variety of possibilities for a holistic workout.

The Kleiner Wäller Vitalparcours appeals to active people of all ages. In addition to various multifunctional trainers, there is equipment which can be used for cardio training and muscle building.
A trendy calisthenics facility completes the offer. The course is broken up by balance and sports equipment such as the lixus slackline and the librium balance beam. In addition, users can optimally train their sense of balance with the statim balancing plate.
